Clare Stephens

Position: SENDco

Clare is the SENDCo at Alma. She is a passionate, kind and creative teacher. Clare has always wanted to work with children with Special Needs from an early age. She graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education in 2001. Her career as a primary teacher has spanned over twenty years in three different schools both in the state and private sector. Clare has taught across the key stages, led in a number of subjects and has held the position of SENDCo for twelve years. Clare completed a Masters in Primary Education- Policy and Practice from UCL whilst teaching. Following being appointed as a SENDCo, Clare undertook the National SENDCo qualification. More recently, Clare pursued an interest of hers in Dyslexia and gained a Masters in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia) from UCL. Outside of school, Clare enjoys keeping fit, being creative, exploring London and all it has to offer along with travelling.
